burn the floor to the 1980s

being a concierge totally has its perks. free theatre, restaurants, events, etc.

i went to “Burn the Floor” on thurs nite. it’s technically a latino ballroom dance extravaganza.  in reality, it’s a flashback to the 1980s as interpreted via Skinemax after dark and Chippendales.  seriously, most of the dance routines had smoke machines, wind chimes, lots of animal printed fringe, and partially shirtless male dancers.

it’s supposed to be sexxxxxy. and sensual.

it was slightly homo-erotic.

i think it’d do well in vegas.

and i know that old people will love it.  people who never go out to a cluuuuub.  people who never spontaneously break into dance.

and another weird thing:  it’s a latino/ballroom extravaganza.  and where are the latinos? not one latino/black/asian/person.  every single person on the stage was white!  white white white.

we all know that most white people have no rhythm! (yes, i sound racist. but it’s true, isn’t it?)

so i amend my declaration to:  white people will love it.

as i said before: “i know that old people will love it. people who never go out to a cluuuuub.  people who never spontaneously break into dance.” <–like i said, white people.

i’m cracking myself up!
